Research Journal #2

In my WA1 i took my paper in the diretion of the explination as to whyI am not fond of writing. My writing process basically consisted of recollecting on my experiences and opportunities with writing and reading, both good and bad.

On Tuesday my reader needs to focus on where I am trying to take them in the conclusion and how I am getting there. I don’t feel like my paper is organized correctly yet, but I’m not really sure how to go about changing that and still keeping all the information on it.

For my research project I would really like to focus on the high school here in Commerce. I am thinking about trying to figure out why some people lean more towards the english subjects and others more mathematical. What draws people to those two subjects (rather than both)?

My biggest concern is that I am not quite sure what we are really doing with our final research projects.

  1. Awh, Allie… your typos made me smile.

It’s good that you’re able to use your life experiences to expand upon why you wrote what you did. I’ve seen your progress, and I know that your final project will be great, because you know what direction you wanna head. You’ll get there!!

  2. This is funny, the person whose paper I edited had very similar feelings about writing and reading. Needless to say, she is not an english person. I definitely feel the same about the organization of my paper. I tend to be very scatter-brained and often have a hard time organizing my thoughts into paragraphs. I was really confused about our project at first but I would recommend establishing a solid research question, it helped me a lot with mine.

  3. Allie, I really enjoy your research project idea. I think it is so true for every student to prefer one or the other, or to say “I’m a math person/ I’m an English person.” I can be accused of doing that :) It will be really interested to see what you find in your interviews- whether it is more nature or nurture that one chooses a side rather than being draw to both Good luck!
